Help for People in Need

System Improvements helps send supplies to people in need along the Gulf Coast.

On 9/8 and 9/9 SI employees helped the Center for Hope (a local food bank) make up 800+ "family personal hygiene packages" for shipping to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Center for Hope is working with other food banks and churches in Mississippi to distribute supplies including food, water, toiletry items, and clothes.

The Center for Hope found a trucking company and drivers who were willing to volunteer their rigs, their time, and THE GAS, to truck 6 semi-loads to the coast from Knoxville.

I heard that they were short of supplies for the "family personal hygiene packages" so we went store to store to buy over 1000 toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant to add to the kits.

The 800+ kits, along with bottled water, boxes of non-perishable food, and clothes arrived today (9/11) and will be distributed over the next few days.

Please take the time to find out how you can help people recover from this disaster.

And thanks to the Center for Hope for providing a way for us to be involved in the relief efforts.
