Job Description
1. Plan and lead EHS audits. Plan engagement logistics, including scope and approach. Conduct audit interviews. Develop written audit programs and related audit work papers. Perform audit follow-ups.
2. Execute projects within prescribed time budgets and at a high degree of quality.
3. Direct the day-to-day efforts of assigned audit personnel and contract resources.
4. Prepare audit reports. Ensure high quality audit results and well-crafted audit report deliverables.
5. Assist in the development of short-term and long-term audit plans for the EHS audit unit through risk assessment activities. Interview senior and executive management. Develop and maintain an audit risk universe specific to EHS risks and areas. Identify key EHS related risks for the various business units.
6. Build and maintain effective client relationships.
Basic Qualifications
1. Four (4) year degree in science, engineering, business or other applicable field.
2. Six (6) or more years of relevant EHS audit work experience, preferably within the energy industry.
3. Demonstrated functional EHS knowledge and technical skills.
4. Ability to assess and determine EHS risk impacts.
5. Excellent oral and writing skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management.
6. Demonstrated project management experience.
7. Ability to reason logically, analyze and evaluate data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions.
8. Ability to apply auditing protocols.
9. Ability to understand global context/responsibilities of the audit function.
10. EHS professional auditor certification or will consider other certifications (e.g. PMP, CIA, PE, etc.) with EHS experience.
Desired Qualifications
1. Energy industry experience.
2. Advanced degree, such as an MBA.
3. Advanced knowledge in relevant EHS field.
4. Knowledge of/experience with Canadian EHS regulations.
Working Conditions
1. Travel to various locations across Spectra.
2. Overtime, as necessary.
3. Occasional weekend work.
