TapRooT® Software Licensing

Those companies that want to utilize the TapRooT® tools and techniques from a central server and a common database will want to explore our licensing options. The basics of our software purchase/licensing are as follows:

Single User License

This is an individual purchase that is licensed to a single individual to use on a single machine. A Single User copy provides a single user a local database utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE). This license option limits the database to the local machine, allows only local access by a single connection and does not include many of the security options included with our Workgroup and Enterprise license options. This license does not include any training or training rights. Annual Maintenance fee required with information provided upon request.

Workgroup License

This option is best for the company or site that would like to offer a single central database on a Local Area Network (LAN) for use by a limited number of simultaneous users (8-10 simultaneous users and an unlimited number of total users or installs included with license).

This license includes the rights to perform in-house training on the TapRooT® techniques as well as software, and allows for an unlimited number of installations within the licensed organization. We offer a Train-the-Trainer Program for Licensees.

This also allows the use of the software on a LAN for multi-user connectivity with an MSDE driven SQL database. This license does not allow the use of the TapRooT® software on a full license of SQL Server (included in Enterprise license below).

Enterprise License

This option is best for the company or site that would like to offer a single central database and to provide access to the software and that database on a Wide Area Network (WAN).

This allows the licensee to set up the database on a central SQL Server (SQL Server License purchased separately from Microsoft and is necessary for this type of TapRooT® Installation) for access by an unlimited number of simultaneous users.

As with the Workgroup license above, the Enterprise license includes the rights to perform in-house training on the TapRooT® techniques as well as software utilizing in-house instructors as well as including an unlimited number of installations within the licensed organization.

We offer a Train-the-Trainer Program for Licensees.
