The UK Rail Accident Investigation Branch is carrying out an investigation into a fatal accident at Morden Hall footpath crossing, on the Croydon tramlink system, that occurred on 13 September 2008.
The accident occurred at 14:37 hrs, when a tram, travelling from Wimbledon towards Croydon, struck and killed a man as he cycled over the footpath crossing adjacent to Morden Hall Park.

The RAIB’s preliminary examination indicates no issues with the condition or operation of the tram that could have contributed to the accident.

The RAIB’s investigation into the accident is proceeding independently of any parallel investigations by the safety authority.

The RAIB will publish a report, including any recommendations to improve safety, at the conclusion of its investigation.  This report will be available on the RAIB website.
