		<description>The report said that the accident occurred at 0058 local time. That's almost 1 AM (night) not day. (The report also said it was 2058 Z and then you need to add hours to get to local time ... looks like 4 hours different.)

Fatigue could happen at any hour when sleep patterns are disrupted buy fatigue, darkness, and the prior stress of complex operations might have made it a wise choice to rest people before the transit with some slow circles in a deep part of the gulf before the transit. When I was in the Navy, this type of thinking would be unheard of because FATIGUE was never an issue (it was never acknowledged). Real sailors could work 24/7.
