The Air Force web site reported that the loss of a $4.6 Million Dollar MQ-1 Predator drone carrying a Hellfire missile was caused by a “short circuit along a 28 volt power supply line.

The web site said:

“Because of the damaged state of the wreckage, the board president was unable to identify more specifically where the failure occurred.“
