Edmonton is the capital city of Alberta and is well known for its scenic river valley and a thriving music and art community. Located 183 miles north of Calgary, Edmonton is home to North America’s largest shopping and entertainment complex, West Edmonton Mall. Alberta Legislature Building is surrounded by 57 acres of parkland. This beautiful building is a must see for those interested in architecture, politics and history.

The Muttart Conservatory is set in Edmonton’s lush river valley. Four huge, glass pyramids make up the conservatory, and it is home to thousands of species of plants, both domestic and exotic. There is The Tropical Pyramid, The Temperate Pyramid, The Arid Pyramid, and The Show Pyramid, which is completely changed six times a year.

The Provincial Museum is one of Canada’s most popular museums. Set in a park just west of downtown, the Museum offers a full range of exhibitions and activities for every age level and interest.

Sir Winston Churchill Square is a park in the core of Edmonton’s downtown and is a favorite hangout for visitors and weekend fun seekers. The square hosts many of the City’s festivals, and is the “front yard” of the Edmonton’s pyramid-topped City Hall.
