5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Training in Lake Charles, LA

Hal Curry and I are in Lake Charles this week teaching the five day course.  We were lucky that all the students (and instructors) got in before Ida (now downgraded to a tropical storm) hit the coast.  I’m glad to be here, but I would be lying if I told you I enjoyed the puddle jumper ride here at 10,000 feet in bad weather.  We are waiting for the storm to hit as we speak. See the pictures of the first day activities; the tall, old, well-dressed, good looking bald guy with the goatee is Hal and the short(er) young, well-dressed, good looking bald guy with the goatee is me.

One of the common questions I am asked is “what is the difference between the two and five day courses?”

In our two day course, we cover all the major techniques used in the TapRooT® 7-Step process.  We also cover Safeguards, one of the optional techniques, we talk about proactive use of TapRooT®, and do a final exercise.  This course prepares participants to conduct more effective investigations and audits.

In the five day course, we cover all the major techniques and all the optional techniques.  We also get into each of the basic cause categories in depth, and spend several hours on proactive.  We have multiple major exercises, spend alot more time in the software, and have a longer final exercise.  This course is our best and really prepares participants to lead investigations in their organizations.
