Another Fish Kill

If you have attended our 2-Day and 5-Day root cause analysis training, you know we have several “fish kill” examples.

Well, here is one that’s real…

It was reported in the Tampa Tribune .

What was the cause?

Perhaps nature.

It seems that if you have a canal that doesn’t have much flow and you have hot, cloudy skies with some rain, the oxygen level in the water can be depleted and the fish will die.

They think that’s what happened in Davis Island canals in Florida.

I say “They think…” because there seem to be several additional possibilities that haven’t been completely ruled out (not enough information to say what happened for sure) when you read the article.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see a detailed SnapCharT® of each fish kill incident.
