Construction Accident in Knoxville Kills One, Seriously Injures Another
I heard it on the radio yesterday and it sounded like a joke. Two construction workers were trapped in concrete.
It turns out that it was not a joke but a serious construction accident.
The two men were helping pour concrete for a 30+ foot tall retaining wall at the Lenoir City Utilities Board sewage treatment plant in Lenoir City when the forms collapsed, striking the men and burying them in concrete.
Rescue crews responded to the scene and had the first man free in 27 minutes. The other man was freed 11 minutes later. Both were in critical condition and were airlifted to local hospitals.
