Did You Know? Global TapRooT® Summit Tips and Trivia
Did you know the first Summit was held in 1994? Mark Paradies organized the first Summit because he saw a need for a conference with a focus on performance improvement, human error, incident investigation, and the latest improvement technology … a conference that was not oriented toward research and PhD discussions but oriented toward practical applications that could be implemented at industrial facilities and in service organizations.
He also had a vision of sharing information and ideas across industry and organizational boundaries. This couldn’t be done by one professional organization (with a safety, quality, or equipment focus) or by an industry-oriented trade group (nuclear, refining, healthcare, aviation, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, utilities, mining, shipping, oil exploration, …). That vision became a reality in ’94 with 33 participants in Gatlinburg, Tennessee!
Over the years, attendance has increased to the hundreds, and today, seventeen years later, we are organizing our 16th Summit to be held February 29 – March 1, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Will you help us make history, or better yet, will you help us change history? You can change history by coming to the Summit and:
- Learning best practices that can help your company improve performance.
- Benchmarking your practices against some of the best companies in the world.
- Discovering ideas that could save people’s lives, prevent injuries and keep your company out of trouble.
