Did You Know? Global TapRooT® Summit Tips and Trivia

Did you know that there are eight different Summit tracks to choose from at the 2012 Global TapRooT® Summit? Each track is designed to help you succeed through the understanding and application of best practices.   In fact, the last best practice session of each track, Planning Your Improvements, gives you an opportunity to sort out and apply all of the information you’ve learned before you head back to your facility.

Tracks planned at the 2012 Global TapRooT® Summit are:

Healthcare Quality, Patient Safety, Sentinel Event: Start a dramatic healthcare quality improvement at your facility!  Discover how using electronic medical records improves healthcare quality and patient safety.  Hear lessons learned from an individual who served prison time for supervising a pharmacy error and develop a fatigue risk management plan.

Human Performance & Behavior Change: This track focuses on proactively preventing devastating injuries and costly downtime at your facility due to human error. You’ll take away ways to change behavior at your facility by praising character traits  — this is more than a “feel good” session but a way to make practical application and a lasting, positive change.  Also, discover how to get people to work together for the good of all.  

Investigation, Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:  Attendees will gain insight into investigation and root cause analysis, learn best practices in corrective actions and learn how to go from good to great.  This track offers advanced, innovative best practices for investigators including troubleshooting equipment problems as part of a TapRooT® investigation.

Leading Performance Improvement: Boost your management skills and become a performance improvement leader.  Sessions range from achieving operational excellence to identifying and solving culture problems.  Learn to design a continuous improvement program.

Quality and Corrective Action Programs: Further your expert knowledge in quality root cause analysis.  Quality issues and corrective action best practices will be covered on this track.

Safety, Process Safety and Risk Management: Risk management and safety professionals value the insights learned in this niche track.  Learn about trends in the workplace, a design for reliable performance and how leading companies have improved their businesses using TapRooT®.

TapRooT® Software Super Users/Administrators: Learn what’s new in TapRooT® software, how to use software to perform an investigation and how to bridge the software knowledge gap.

Certified TapRooT® Instructor: Don’t lose your certification! Certification is a valued career tool, and certified instructors are required to learn important updates to maintain certification.  Summit attendance is recommended every year, and required once every two years.  Topics this year include maintaining motivation and proficiency, updates in software and making positive contributions in facilitation and management interactions.
