Fascinating History of the 2015 Global TapRooT® Summit Hotel

FlamingoHotel

Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World, is a bright and exciting place filled with more entertainment and restaurants than anywhere in the United States.

Among the many elaborate hotels along the Vegas Strip, The Flamingo, host hotel for the 2015 Global TapRooT® Summit, is one to remember.

The history of The Flamingo dates back to 1945 when a man named Billy Wilkerson, a serious gambler, thought building his own casino was the solution to his addiction. Once construction began, he quickly realized he did not have enough money for such a large project so he found help from the Mob. Wilkerson and his new mobster business partner “Bugsy” Siegel were able to get The Flamingo up and running by December 26, 1946. It wasn’t long, though, before it fell under and was forced to shut down. Siegel gave it some time, decided to give it a second chance and scheduled another Grand Opening for March 1, 1947. The success the second time around was extremely profitable.
