We had a great time on the first day of our 2013 Global TapRooT® Summit.

The name game was a great opportunity to network with others.

We started the day with a keynote speech from Canadian musician Carl Dixon. He told us about his experience almost passing away in a devastating car accident. It was inspiring to hear how he persevered through the hardship, almost losing his career and then bouncing back to success. He also played a few tunes for us.

I was able to attend Mark Paradies’ session on the Deepwater Horizon incident and what we can learn from it. He had some really interesting thoughts on the event. We were able to film the session as well, so stay with us the next few weeks to view it and learn what he had to say.

We ended the day with a keynote speech by Ken Futch, who accidentally shot himself in the head and survived. He’s a hilarious speaker, telling his story with humor and heartfelt reflections on life. I love his insights on turning situations into opportunities, no matter how bad.

Tonight we’ll be headed to the Mellow Mushroom for our reception. More photos to follow!
