Hotels & Where to Stay for the 2021 Global TapRooT® Summit

Knoxville

Downtown Knoxville is where you will want to stay for this year’s Summit. Knoxville is experiencing an urban revitalization, and its downtown is bursting with energy. New hotels, shops, and restaurants are opening up all over downtown.

Buy choosing to stay downtown, you will have the choice of several fantastic restaurants, hotels, and activities, all within walking distance. Because Knoxville has such a compact downtown area, it is easy to walk around and explore, or you can use the free trolly system to get around.

Downtown Knoxville Hotels

You will be surprised by all the choices of hotels Knoxville has to offer. There are plenty of brand-new chain hotels to choose from and quality boutique hotels unique to the area. Knoxville has you covered if you are looking for a hotel with a view or a stellar rooftop bar.

HOTELS NEAR THE KNOXVILLE CONVENTION CENTER

These three hotels are the closest to the Knoxville Convention Center, where our Summit is being held. It will only take you a few minutes to walk to Summit, so you can leave your car parked and not have to worry about finding a close parking spot nearby. We recommend staying at these hotels for a hassle-free experience, but other recommendations will be listed below.

The Tennessean

The Tennessean is Knoxville’s first personal luxury hotel. It is only a step away from the Convention Center and the World’s Fair Park. Here you will find first-class service, comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, & beautiful decor. This is one of Knoxville’s top-rated hotels for a good reason.

The Hilton

The Hilton Knoxville may not be just a few steps away like the Tennessean, but it has easy access to the covered Henley St. Pedestrian Bridge Walkway. By staying at the Hilton, you are a short walk to the Convention Center, and a bonus is you won’t have to worry about crossing the extremely busy Henley Street. Use the covered walkway that is connected to the Convention Center.

The Hilton is also within a 5-minute walk to Market Square, where you can find great restaurants and shopping. It also has an outdoor swimming pool and a cozy, sunken outdoor patio with a nifty fire pit.

Hampton Inn

This Hampton Inn is the furthest away from the other two we mentioned, but it is still only a 4-minute walk to the Convention Center and an 8-minute walk to Market Square. It is located in a more quiet area downtown without any bars or restaurants next door.

HOTELS IN THE CENTER OF IT ALL

If you want to stay in the heart of Knoxville, where all the action is, then Gay Street is as close as you can get. This will put you within steps of Market Square, theaters, shops, pubs, restaurants, & live music.

Hyatt Place

The Hyatt Place is located in the historic Farragut Hotel. Some of its’ amenities included a fantastic rooftop bar, great location, and attentive staff. This recently renovated historical building is simply stunning. You can either self-park in the State Street Garage, or valet parking is offered for a fee.

Embassy Suites

The Embassy Suites is one of the newer hotels in downtown Knoxville and is home to Knoxville’s best restaurant, Knox Mason. Before heading to the Summit, stop by the attached coffee shot, K Brew, where you can grab a delicious drink. You are sure to enjoy its’ many amenities like the rooftop pool and the Topgolf suites. Breakfast is included in your stay, as well as an evening reception where they serve light snacks, house wine, and beer.

Courtyard by Marriot & Residence Inn

Looking to stay in the heart of it all, but a quieter location? Then staying at the Courtyard by Marriot or the Residence Inn is the right place for you. Both are still within a 6-minute walk to Market Square and other fun activities. These are also some of the newer downtown lodges available in the Knoxville scene.

Crowne Plaza

The Crowne Plaza has been a staple in the Knoxville community. It is located on the end of Gay Street and is steps away from everything downtown and a 10-minute walk to the Convention Center. Here you will find an indoor pool and an on-site bar. You can’t go wrong with this choice.

THE ONE & ONLY DOWNTOWN BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The Oliver Hotel is a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown Knoxville. This hotel is full of history, and it even has its’ own speakeasy lounge. The Oliver is perfectly located in Market Square on Union Avenue. Its’ location makes it the perfect spot to explore all of Knoxville’s historical sites, art museums, local music, restaurants, and parks. The hotel even offers bikes to make exploring Knoxville a breeze.
