Indonesian Ferry Sinks; 250 missing

“The accident is another setback for the country’s transportation sector, which has been struggling to improve its safety image over the last several years. A string of ferry and plane accidents in 2006 and 2007 prompted President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to increase the state’s transportation budget almost 65 percent for 2008 and demand that companies adhere to safety standards.”
