Interesting Article in Fast Company – “Failure Is The Only Option, If Success Is The End Goal”

I like the article (click here to see it) and agree with much of what they say IF you have an effective way to learn from your mistakes.

Also, it is much better to learn from small mistake and not make the big ones (especially the fatal ones). But a fatal accident (either to a person or to a career) probably would not be categorized as a “healthy risk” that they refer to in the article.

But one must remember that BP’s risk based decision making process evaluated the actions they were taking in the Gulf of Mexico and they thought they were an acceptable risk. Sometimes the view aftyer the accident seems completely different than the view before the accident. Especially when fatalities are involved.
