Job Opening: Hillsboro, OR – SolarWorld – Industrial Engineer – Needs to Troubleshoot Breakdowns and Find and Fix Root Causes

From the posting, primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a capacity model of the multi-step production operation. Model will be based on actual data and be maintained as processes are upgraded or changed. Model will be conducive to calculating Cost of Ownership of the processes. Model will be used to determine capital purchases for future capacity.
  • Suggest and implement alternatives for capacity utilization including SolarWorld’s internal production operations or external supply companies.
  • Supply information to controllers and sales operations as required.
  • Provides analysis on production performance to determine possible constraints and suggest methods to eliminate constraints. Report analysis to management in statistical form to support analysis and possible conclusions.
  • Develop possible scenarios for meeting customer demands. Scenarios will be evaluated for efficiency, cost and appropriateness to meeting company goals.
  • Troubleshoot possible breakdowns in the Production Operation and implement solutions to root cause problems.
  • Prepares routine and ad hoc reports to management.
