Experience Philly & King of Prussia
Philadelphia, aka the City of Brotherly Love, is famous for the historic symbol of the Liberty Bell, Philly cheesesteak, Independence Hall, Boathouse Row, and–for all those who try–running like Rocky. You may also want to check out (as in a selfie) the iconic LOVE sculpture, sample cuisine from dozens of vendors and restaurants at Reading Terminal Market, and visit “America’s most artistic mile.”
About 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia, King of Prussia is home to the history of Valley Forge (Valley Forge is 14 minutes from King of Prussia), the largest shopping venue on the east coast, remarkable gardens and arboretums,
During the Revolutionary War, the Continental Army was encamped at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-78. The history of the encampment is memorialized throughout the meadows and woodlands, with monuments commemorating the perseverance of a generation who sacrificed.
At Valley Forge National Historical Park, you can see the Revolutionary War encampment. You can also visit the stone house on the Schuylkill River that was Washington’s Headquarters from 1777-78. Walk the trails that connect major monuments; take in the National Memorial Arch and the log cabin barracks of Muhlenberg Brigade.
Take to the air but do it indoors at IFly King of Prussia, an indoor skydiving center.
Commune with nature and visit with more than 175 species of birds; select from one of the five hiking trails that accompany the John James Audubon Center on the museum grounds.
