Near-Miss – Employees Almost Burned by Steam in Ethanol Plant Accident in Pickett, WI

The story says:

A Utica Energy representative said their burns were ‘mild if none.’

The company says safety mechanisms kicked in, which prevented the accident from being much more serious.

What caused the valve to malfunction is being investigated.

This is an excellent example of a failed Safeguard and additional Safeguards preventing serious injuries.
