RESCUED AFTER A ONE HOUR STRUGGLE IN GRAIN SILO

Man struggles at silo for an hour before rescue.

Almost three dozen rescue workers fought quicksand-like grain sorghum for an agonizing hour in a silo at the Port of  Harlingen to save a worker submerged up to his neck.

The worker was checking a vent from inside the silo when he fell through a pocket of grain.

The grain if not well compressed, leaves pockets of soft spots.
