Root Cause Analysis Tips: 2014 Global TapRooT® Summit Best Practices (ConocoPhillips)

Mike Rodriguez of ConocoPhillips shared a fantastic best practice at the 2014 Global TapRooT® Summit. Watch his video below, and learn how he rates and improves his corrective actions:

If you’re not able to watch the video right now, below is a transcription of his tip:

“My name is Mike Rodriguez from ConocoPhillips Alaska, and I work with drilling and wells teams up there. Our best practice currently is to score our corrective actions on a scale of 0-3, 3 being a high score driven by the idea that it causes change. It matches up real well with what TapRooT® offers, because its changes are long-lasting — system changes, things that have legs. So that’s worked out real well, because now our lead investigators know that to score that 3, they have to really dig down and find things that are going to have lasting change.”
