Six Favorite Course Locations for a Vacation this Summer

Schedule TapRooT® Training and a Mini-Vacation

When teaching TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Courses, I traveled all over the world. I enjoyed many locations and often arranged to bring my family or stay over a weekend to make it a mini-vacation.

I was looking at the upcoming TapRooT® RCA Courses this summer and saw six that I thought:

“That would make a great vacation destination.”

Let’s see if you agree…

Nashville, Tennessee (Franklin) – May 8-12

Nashville is a great place to visit. And I like staying down in Franklin, on the outskirts of the city. The 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Course in Franklin is on May 8-12.

In downtown Franklin, I especially like the Red Pony restaurant for some sophisticated southern cooking. Try the grilled lamb chops appetizer, the she-crab bisque, and any of the entrees (they vary by season).

Red Pony Private Dining Room

For more ideas of things to do in Franklin, watch the video below…

And, of course, there is nearby Nashville with country music, dancing, shopping, and great food.

Amsterdam, Netherlands – May 15-19

Amsterdam is a great city to visit, with an almost endless list of things you can do. And the 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Course on May 15-19 in Amsterdam is at a great time to be there. Why? Because if you come early, you can enjoy the Tulip Festival Amsterdam, which runs from March 23 to May 14 (the day before the course).

One thing Kristin fails to mention in the video is the great art in the various museums. One of my favorites is the Rembrandt House Museum. To find out more about museums and tours, CLICK HERE.

Denver/Golden, Colorado – June 14-15

On June 14-15, we are sponsoring a 2-Day TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course in Golden, Colorado (next door to Denver).

What is there to do in Golden? Watch this video for some ideas.

And when I taught there, I really loved the hotel where we are holding the course and the hotel’s restaurant.

Table Mountain Inn

Plus, the Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive away. Most likely, there will still be snow there when you visit. Here is a great guide for visiting the park in June…

What about the 2-Day Course? The 2-Day TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Course is the fastest way to learn to use TapRooT® RCA to investigate low-to-medium risk incidents. CLICK HERE to register.

Singapore – July 10-14

For those of us from Tennessee, Singapore is an exotic place to visit (and a long plane ride away). We are sponsoring a 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Course there on July 10-14.

Here are 20 things you must do in Singapore…

The 5-Day Course is a great course to learn the TapRooT® RCA basics plus all the advanced techniques, including the 14-Step Cognitive Interviewing Process. See the complete course outline HERE. and CLICK HERE to register.

Lake Tahoe, Nevada – July 24-28

I always enjoyed teaching the course we do every summer in South Lake Tahoe. The lake and mountains are beautiful, there’s great food, and there are casinos.

The 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Course is on July 24-28. CLICK HERE to register.

My favorite spots include…

The Edgewood Restaurant

For great sandwiches and a beer with an amazing view, try the Beach House.

And my wife really likes Bluestone Jewelry in Tahoe City (on the other side of the lake from South Lake Tahoe, so enjoy the drive and the views).

Bluestone Jewelry Tahoe City, CA

And while you are driving around the lake, make sure you stop and see Vikingsholm at Emerald Bay.

Also, make sure you take a lake cruise or rent a boat. I’m sure you’ll have a great time exploring.

Knoxville, Tennessee – August 21-25

Yes, Knoxville is our hometown. And nearby are The Smoky Mountains.

We are sponsoring a 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Course on August 21-25. CLICK HERE to register.

What can you do in Knoxville? HERE is a family-friendly guide. And here is a video of things to do…

And Knoxville is the home of the Cotton Eyed Joe – a country dancing mecca.

That’s why Knoxville is a great place for a mini-vacation in late August.
