The Canberra Times Reports: NZ air accident investigators puzzle over cause
10 people died in a hot air balloon crash.
The paper quoted a witness as saying:
”It was coming down to land in Somerset Road, it was a fairly normal descent, although it seemed to come down quite fast,” Mr Walker said. ”There was no wind, or very little. It then hit high-voltage power lines. He [pilot Lance Hopping] knows where all the power lines are, so why, I wouldn’t have a clue. It’s crazy.’‘
