The Question Behind the Question
Ever heard questions like these?
Why do we have to go through all this change?
When is someone going to train me?
Who dropped the ball?
Why can’t they communicate better?
When will we get better systems?
Who’s going to solve the problem?
Why don’t others walk their talk?
John G. Miller will be presenting a keynote session on “Personal Accountability and the QBQ!” at the 2009 TapRooT® Summit, October 7-9, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee.
John’s message is right for your organization—and maybe even for you, too. People at every organizational level have found Personal Accountability and the QBQ! life changing. John is the founder of QBQ, Inc., an organizational development firm dedicated to making personal accountability a core value for organizations and individuals. Through his writings, speaking, and a nationwide network of QBQ!-certified consultants, Miller has brought his message to countless organizations including Bausch & Lomb, Blockbuster, American Cancer Society, Wells Fargo, Verizon Wireless, Applebee’s, Boeing, Pier 1 Imports, Wilson’s Leather, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
He is the author of the best-selling book QBQ! The Question Behind the Question – published by Penguin—and the new book “Flipping the Switch.” He invested a decade selling sales management and leadership training. His message of QBQ! was developed facilitating over 10,000 hours of training inside corporations from all industries.
A 1980 graduate of Cornell University, John now lives in Denver, CO with his wife, Karen, 6 daughters, one son, a ferret, two huskies, several Corn snakes and Pythons, 6 Bearded Dragon lizards, 3 tropical birds, a horse named Roxy—and a very scared Shih Tzu (pronounced “sheet zoo”) puppy! No wonder John travels so much!
John will also be presenting “Flipping the Switch: Living the QBQ!” right after his keynote presentation. In this interactive workshop following John G. Miller’s keynote presentation, the author of QBQ! and Flipping the Switch will share more fun and meaningful stories of personal accountability. Conducted more as a workshop, there will be interaction with your peers based on questions provided by John. It will be lively, energetic, and instructional while giving each person time to “pause and process” the powerful principle of personal accountability. This additional session will provide practical ways to apply and now live the QBQ! When we do that, the switch is flipped—and personal accountability illuminates everything we do at work and at home.
