Two Killed in Mining Accidents in Congo

Bloomberg reports that two separate accidents claimed the lives of two miners working for Katanga Mining in the Congo. The company said:

Extensive accident investigations, involving both our internal safety personnel and local government officials, are presently underway to understand every aspect of these incidents and to identify and implement measures to prevent any reoccurrence,” it said. “While these investigations are carried out the decision has been made that it is safe to continue mining operations.
