What Happened in the Eversource Course? TapRooT® Training: On-Site in Connecticut

Root Cause Analysis Class

 Through investigation interviews and other techniques, TapRooT® Instructors Heidi Reed and Ken Scott taught Eversource employees to find and fix the root causes of problems.

When TapRooT® Instructor Heidi Reed sent me these images of an on-site course at Eversource in Connecticut, she noted, “Here are a few pictures from the second Eversource class with Ken Scott. It’s hard work teaching in a mask all day but the students are great with us and appreciate the protective measures.” Eversource, a Fortune 500 company and a TapRooT® client, is New England’s largest energy provider, serving more than 3.6 million electric and natural gas customers.

Heidi pointed out, “Notice the plastic barrier between the students in the first picture? We were careful and pretty clever in our exercises!”

TapRooT®’s systematic process for finding the root causes of problems is used around the world to investigate and fix all categories of mission-critical issues, problems, and potential incidents. The first steps of the TapRooT® process are planning the investigation, collecting information, and understanding what happened. The investigator draws a SnapCharT® to understand what happened and to organize the information about what happened.
