How to Become a Certified TapRooT® Instructor

Become a Certified TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Instructor.

How do you become a Certified TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis Instructor so you are able to teach people within your organization? We’ve simplified the process which is listed below.

1. BECOME LICENSED TO USE TAPROOT® TRAINING MATERIALS

The requesting company/site obtains a license to use 2-Day TapRooT® Training Materials or the materials and the TapRooT® VI Software. (Please contact us about licensing.)

2. ATTEND A 5-DAY TAPROOT® ADVANCED COURSE

The prospective instructor (the individual who wants to become a Certified TapRooT® Instructor) attends 5-Day TapRooT® Advanced Root Cause Analysis Team Leader Training. (This helps the prospective instructor learn the system and become an expert in speaking about it and using it).

3. PRACTICE USING TAPROOT® ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS

The prospective instructor practices using TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis to analyze incidents.

4. SCHEDULE A TAPROOT® TRAIN-THE-TRAINER COURSE

The prospective instructor schedules a TapRooT® Train-the-Trainer Course.

Email info@taproot.com or calls System Improvements at 865.539.2139 to schedule a course at your site.

5. STUDY THE TAPROOT® MATERIALS

The prospective Instructor studies the 2-Day TapRooT® Course instructor notes (part of the license package that they receive when they license the 2-Day TapRooT® Training materials).

6. SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS SHIPS YOUR COURSE MATERIALS

System Improvements ships the materials to be used in the 2-Day TapRooT® Course.

7. TIME FOR YOU TO DO A DRY RUN!

On the day before the 2-Day TapRooT® Course, one of the System Improvements’ instructors arrives to work with the prospective instructor. The prospective instructor will dry run the sections of the course that they plan to teach (they will teach approximately 50% of the course). The System Improvements’ TapRooT® Instructor will provide them with feedback on their teaching and tips to improve the delivery of the material.

8. CO-TEACH THE TAPROOT® TRAINING COURSE

The prospective instructor and System Improvements’ TapRooT® Instructor will work to together to teach the 2-Day TapRooT® Course. The prospective instructor will teach about 50% of the course (or 1/3 of the course if two instructors are certifying at the same time). The System Improvements Instructor provides the prospective instructor with feedback at the end of each day to improve their delivery of the materials.

9. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE CERTIFIED TO TEACH TAPROOT® ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS TRAINING!

At the end of the 1-day prep and 2-day course, the prospective instructor becomes a Certified TapRooT® Instructor. Next, we will send the newly certified TapRooT® instructor a plaque after the course ends.

10. MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION

To maintain their certification, the Certified TapRooT® Instructor must attend an advanced TapRooT® Training Courses (offered prior to the TapRooT® Summit) and the TapRooT® Summit at least once every two years.

That’s the certification process!
