How to Go BEYOND Root Cause Analysis: A TapRooT® TV Video Premiere

What is “going beyond root cause analysis”? What does it mean for users of TapRooT® Root Cause Analysis?

Actually, TapRooT® users go beyond root cause analysis frequently. First, let’s define our terminology. What is a root cause? Most dictionaries define “root cause” along the lines of “the basic cause of something.”

Interestingly, when you consult several dictionaries for “root cause,” you will get just as many definitions. The result is that people don’t agree on one definition of “root cause.”

When confronted with finding no standard definition for “root cause,” System Improvements Inc. and TapRooT® co-creator Mark Paradies and a colleague, David Busch, developed a first definition as:

The most basic cause (or causes)
that can reasonably be identified
that management has control
to fix.

This definition became an industry standard for years

But, wait, there is more! Learn about the next step after determining the specific root causes. After you listen to Marcus and Benna, expand your knowledge by reading Mark’s article, “Beyond Root Cause Analysis [How to Go Beyond Root Cause Analysis].”
